After a very long break from my Korean Blog, Korean movies, Korean Dramas and Korean Music, I have jumped
back in with an action movie staring Kang Dong-gun. NO TEARS FOR THE DEAD, 2014. A movie where Dong-gun plays a hit man in the US and while on a job accidentally kills an innocent young Korean girl. I should say the first scene is all action that consumes non stop for the first 6 minutes of this film.
Like all good killers, well the ones with a soul, he goes into seclusion. Mourning the little girl and hating his taking her life. Ironic since that’s what he does for a living.
He is then charged with the task of killing the girls mother. His employer brings him forcabliy from seclusion and dishes out his orders with a bark and a threat. Do it or die. It was not a job he wanted but more or less self preservation.
As time passes we learn more about the mother, more about the killers childhood. Good versus evil. A story that plays out well because I really loathe the bad characters and grow closer to the good characters. I guess just as they wanted us to. The audience should or at least I did start to feel sorry for the killer and the job he was sent to do. When he witnesses his target trying to kill herself, he leaves her.
The lies, deceit and corruption run deep and the innocent girls mother finds herself in the midst of an investigation. Surrounded by the police looking for the ring of players and eventually the ring leader.
This is an intriguing show that warrants subtitles to be enjoyed completely.
That’s right. I watched this movie on Netflix but they did not provide subtitles. I tried everything, so I abandoned this movie before it was over because it really deserves a chance. (So in pure husband style, he showed me how to get the subtitles on with the Apple TV remote. Boy do I feel stupid).
Just knowing I watched about half of it with no subtitles, speaks volumes for this movies, great acting and story. I did rewatch the entire movie and it was quite good. No more spoils, if you like action movies and Kang Dong Gun, you will love this show.
If I sound surprised it is because I first saw him in a romantic comedy, A GENTLEMAN’S DIGNITY a few years back. He was so handsome and quiet with an adorable sense of humor I found it hard to picture him in an action film, much less a blood bath style killing machine. Kudos KDG…..you are the man!!!
I am still here and I appreciate my followers who keep checking back. I have been busy with new adventures a little closer to home. There are not enough hours in the day, that’s all I have to say.
I have been listening to Jung Yong Hwas “One Fine Day”. For those who have it, you know it’s pretty awesome.
I will post a formal review soon. TAKE CARE!!!!

Oh just KISS. So cute
Lee Jong Hyun and Gong Seung Yeon recently filmed a sexy and romantic photo shoot for the June issue of Ceci magazine, and the latest episode of ‘We Got Married’ reveals what happened behind the scenes.
Although Gong Seung Yeon says that Lee Jong Hyun was a total natural during the shoot, she is nervous and shy when she has to cozy up to her virtual husband in front of all the crew.
Things get even worse when the photographer asks them to get in bed together with Gong Seung Yeon wearing a lingerie-like outfit. “I was like, isn’t this too sexy?! I’ve never looked like this in front of him before! Isn’t this too fast?” she says with a laugh in her interview.
Even Lee Jong Hyun gets flustered, despite the fact that they put a duvet between the two to try to make them more comfortable.
